The Battle of Britain Memorial was formed as the RAF Historic Flight in 1957, changing its name to specifically commemorate the RAF's finest hour in 1973.This set includes Avro LancasterPA474the Flight's most famous machine, Supermarine Spitfire Mk.llaP7350 an actual Battle of Britain survivor and the later much more developed Spitfire PR.XlX PS915. As a trio these machines, along with the BBMF's other aircraft, help to not only demonstrate the war time capabilities of the RAF but also to remind the public of the contribution they, and their crews, gave to the freeing of Europe from aggression.
